Today, we held an inauguration ceremony at the Port of Malmö—and at the same time bid farewell to our beloved Malmö harbor master

The sky is always light blue in Malmö, and today’s opening ceremony at the harbor turned into a real celebration. Thank you to everyone who came! As we celebrated doubling our number of depots (we now have two) in the “City of Parks,” we also bid farewell to the site manager for both of them. When May turns into June, Gustav Sjöberg will be moving to the client side as he launches CFG Entreprenad.

As previously reported, we now have two locations in Malmö—one in Fosie and one in the harbor. Today’s grand opening at the Port of Malmö featured contests, great conversation, and a total of 857 kebabs were served.

“Not only has this day gone by quickly, but so has the entire process of setting up our operations here at the port. It’s great to be able to offer this to the customers who are building and doing business up here,” says Gustav Sjöberg, site manager in Malmö Fosie and the Port of Malmö, adding:

– The team you’ll be facing here includes Daniel Kvist (formerly of Fosie) and Ted Sandberg (a lightning-fast left back for Torn IF)—both of whom are inside sales reps. Plus Andreas Henriksson, who serves as yard manager and driver—he, too, is well-known from his years at the Fosie depot. Simply put, this team has experience and speed.

Third time’s the charm?

This is the second time Gustav has left us; who knows—maybe we’ll see him back in our colors one day. But first, he’s going to follow his dream and start his own contracting firm. If we play our cards right, we might have a great client in Gustav. Regardless, Gustav has been incredibly important to our success in Malmö and Skåne. He was there when Dennis became Renta, with all that entailed, and quickly rose to become deputy site manager before taking full responsibility for the Fosie depot. Gustav has also been the driving force behind our expansion into the port. It would never have been possible without Gustav.

– Giving a 27-year-old the chance to run the Malmö depot is, to me, a sign that the company dares to think differently and to place trust in its employees, giving them hope that they can succeed without a bunch of fancy degrees on paper. And that’s something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. Whether I did a good job or a bad one isn’t for me to decide, but I’ve done everything I can to make it work and turn out well. Has it been easy? No, absolutely not. But wow, I’ve learned so much that I’ll be able to take with me going forward. So a huge thank you to everyone at Renta,” concludes Gustav Sjöberg.

We’d like to say thank you, too!

And do as we do— follow Gustav’s dream here.
