Christer Arrives with a Clear Game Plan – Meet Skaraborg’s Sales Manager
With 15 years in the hardware business and 20 years in the building materials trade, it must surely be his junior years with Södertälje SK that led us to hire Christer Valtersson as Skaraborg’s sales manager. It’s, of course, that combination of qualities—and in that regard, he’s both clear and consistent. We extend a warm welcome to the orange team!
His first meeting with all of Renta Skaraborg’s salespeople has barely begun when his calm demeanor naturally addresses certain challenges. With his humility about being new to the equipment rental business, both Christer and we know that it’s not what you’ve done that shapes your future. It’s how you apply those experiences to every given situation.
“For me, this is the hardest part—I don’t know anything. I certainly have a lot of experience, but now there are new systems, new customers, and new pricing models.” “I feel a bit like an intern, even though the core of everything we do is about one thing and one thing only: building a close relationship with the customer,” says Christer Valtersson, sales manager at Renta Skaraborg.
Dare to Be the Expert
In our day-to-day work, where we are the generalists who provide the specialists with the right tools, the challenge also lies in putting on our expert hats and asking the right questions on the job site.
– Sure, you could call it upselling, but honestly, that curiosity gives the builder the opportunity to broaden their own perspective. After all, we have quite a few machines and accessories in our fleet, ranging from sandpaper to ergonomic solutions. I think we’re already doing a good job here in Skaraborg; the question is rather how we can get even better and thereby get closer to our customers. All it takes is a little curiosity,” Christer concludes.
