50 Years of Service to Falkenberg – Tomas Ahlberg Retires

In five minutes, half a century of service to Falkenberg will come to an end. Tomas Ahlberg is the welder and construction worker who has paved the way for the urban development of this cobblestone town. But he would never use those words himself. He’s more of a joker who, primarily in his role as an inside salesman, writes poetry on return slips. And now he’s penning his final note: “Now I went home.”

A lifetime’s work is filled with early mornings, rain, and wind and rain, only to end one day with bright sunshine, heads held high, and an opportunity for all of us to pause and reflect. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Tomas, Leif, and Jarmo for a long and eventful career.

And just as Tomas heads home, Leif Skogsberg at Kumlaverkstan leaves his 13-key wrench behind when he clocks out for the last time. And a month ago, Jarmo Krautsuk left the Uppsala depot to go to some hard rock concerts. Were the Scorpions any good?

Thank you for everything you’ve taught us and passed on to us, and now enjoy your well-deserved retirement. And don’t wait to stop by and make sure we’re really behaving ourselves. Come by whenever you like—we’ll have the coffee ready for you.
