Umeå’s Jerry Jonsson hit the roof on TikTok
Last week, Jerry Jonsson, a sales representative, rode his snowmobile onto the huge snow pile at the Umeå depot. The video racked up a whopping 300,000 views on our TikTok account. We took the opportunity to hop on the snowmobile and talk about the time he broke his back, life on the back of a snowmobile, and how sales are about one thing and one thing only: the relationships we build with each other.

Jerry Jonsson grew up in Vilhelmina in the ’80s, riding a snowmobile that he’s never given up. A hobby that has taken him all over the snowy world and back. But his touring life came to an abrupt end when what had been described as a 19-meter gap turned out to be four meters shorter in reality. A hard landing. Silence, and legs that couldn’t bear his weight. His vertebrae took the full brunt of the impact, and the doctors declared that his snowmobile-riding days were a thing of the past.
Jerry didn’t agree with that.
– It was literally just a matter of learning to walk again. I’d had spinal fusion surgery, but I wasn’t ready to become stiff. I was way too restless to sit at home, so I was back at the shop after six weeks. I balanced my snowmobile life with my life as a mechanic in our shop, and since then, my snowmobile life has been more about deep snow and riding on steep slopes—where it’s incredibly steep—rather than ramp-to-ramp jumps and flips,” says Jerry.
“I like it when it’s personal”
Sales have always come naturally to Jerry and have always been a part of who he is. His entry into the field came through Duell’s launch in Sweden and his goal to challenge the status quo and demonstrate that service and sales are all about building relationships.
– It was an educational time when we believed in ourselves wholeheartedly. We won the battle mainly because we had a large portfolio and delivered on our promises—from snowmobiles to ATVs. But I couldn’t say no when Tommy asked if I wanted to return to the equipment rental business. Five years later, we’re making a splash on TikTok,” says Jerry, adding:
– I like it when things are personal. I love the relationships my job brings me and the people I meet. The challenges we overcome and how we tackle everyday life. With the belief that everything will work out.
