The challengers are ready for 2023

We’re wrapping up yet another crazy year in which records were broken, but above all, in which we forged even stronger ties with our local builders. We now have a greater presence throughout Sweden, and we’ve shown that no matter the challenge—whether it’s inflation or a malfunctioning machine—we’re ready to take it on—and fix it.

At the beginning of the year, I traveled north to meet Lars and Erik; we watched Björklöven beat AIK 6–3.
It was a meeting and a partnership that undeniably fit like a glove, and the acquisition of LE Maskin felt just as natural then as it does now—and we finally became a company with a nationwide presence in Sweden. On our way south, we also forged ties with Byggmaskiner, which just two months later switched from blue to orange.

We had barely managed to inaugurate and open our location in Vänersborg before we—having driven Renta Danmark’s expansion—were able to confidently hand over that responsibility to the fantastic machine rental rebels at Lohke. Their “orange-ification” of the Danish pastry is truly inspiring. And with the acquisition of the pump experts at Uprent, we became a company operating in eight countries.

Speaking of staying true to our vision and ourselves, we released our first sustainability report and opened our Borlänge facility with such enthusiasm that over 527 builders came out to welcome us. A standard that the openings in Norrland aimed to surpass. We started with a grand opening in Örnsköldsvik and took part in a puck-off with MoDo, then headed down to Linköping’s brand-new (and ten times larger) location before taking the grand opening tour to three towns in as many days: Lycksele, Umeå, and Sundsvall. The whole town of Lycksele turned out; the police had to direct traffic in Umeå when 1,056 people ate kebabs (an opening-night record!); and in Sundsvall, we got to soak up the Sundsvall vibe and meet a team that truly plays for one another.

We play for each other

The doors to our storage area leading to the customer service desk and workshop have been opened and closed a couple of times this year. That number would have been just as interesting to know as it would have been completely irrelevant. Because it’s the interactions that are interesting and that matter. “I need a ladder”—“How long?”—and off we go.

It’s early in the morning, with driving rain and wind; setting up the site office out in the summer mist and installing a crane in minus 15. It’s Pelle who rides his bike from the construction site to the depot and shares crispbread sandwiches with us in Uppsala; it’s the barbecue lunches at construction sites across the country, the paddle and golf tournaments, and ice hockey games with the equipment suppliers. There are so many important and absolutely crucial conversations and dialogues that build us up, and all the challenges of this year have truly shown how we’ve got each other’s backs.

Thundering into 2023

As usual, we’re charging headlong into the new year, and here we’ll be opening brand-new depots staffed by local experts in:

  • Enköping – Moving to New Premises in January
  • Östersund – Opening Ceremony on February 8
  • Gävle – to open in March
  • Växjö – to open in April
  • Trelleborg – to be inaugurated in May

We will also continue to electrify our fleet of machines and sponsor even more local organizations. But above all, we will do everything we can to continue nurturing the important relationship we have with you.

Let’s get started,
