Asplunds Bygg has no machinery just sitting around and costing money
Ice hockey coach and site manager Mikael Jansson at Asplunds Bygg is in the midst of building 54 new apartments in Högne when we sat down to talk about our digital equipment fleet, Renta Easy, which is helping Mikael and his team save money.
– The best thing about the app is the reminders we get when a machine is due to be returned. On a construction site, there are quite a few machines in use, and we don’t want a bunch of them just sitting idle. Plus, the Västerås depot is incredibly quick to come out and pick up or drop off machines. “I place an order in the morning and have it in use after lunch. We save money and get things done faster,” says Mikael Jansson.
In the Högne neighborhood of Västerås Asplunds Bygg is constructing a five-story apartment building with a basement and a large courtyard. A total of 54 apartments will be available, along with a parking garage with 320 parking spaces. And right now, they’re renting aerial lifts, construction machinery, drywall carts, and drywall stands.
– When I log in to my computer, I get an instant overview, and our foreman, Sofia, can place orders from her phone right from the construction site—and everything is linked to the same account. That holistic view makes things easier.
