Renta (Future) Signs on and Joins Roadmap 2045
Roadmap 2045 is an initiative by the Swedish Construction Federation to achieve a climate-neutral construction and civil engineering sector. Excluding heating, the construction and civil engineering sector’s annual climate impact is estimated to be approximately 15 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents, when imports and indirect effects are included. To reduce this impact and achieve the climate goals passed by the Riksdag in 2017, all stakeholders must take responsibility and contribute by reducing their climate impact.
We will begin by assessing our carbon dioxide emissions and setting goals for how to gradually reduce them, and we hope to reduce them at a faster pace than the targets set out in Roadmap 2045, while at the same time having great respect for the challenges we face. There are many factors that must be identified and brought together to succeed. However, doing things differently and challenging the industry has never been Renta’s weak point; together, we will succeed in this as well.
It is important that everyone who works at Renta takes pride in our sustainability efforts and that we are doing our part to contribute to a more sustainable society.
The roadmap will give us the opportunity to collaborate and work together with customers, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders. All to achieve, more effectively and more quickly, the progress our planet so desperately needs. When it comes to the environment, we are all colleagues.

The targets for achieving a climate-neutral value chain in the construction and civil engineering sector are as follows for each year:
- 2045: Net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
- 2040: 75% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (compared to 2015).
- 2030: A 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (compared to 2015).
- 2025: Greenhouse gas emissions show a clear downward trend.
- 2020–2022: Stakeholders in the construction and civil engineering sector have assessed their emissions and set climate goals.
