Twelfth at the World Championships—now our regional sales representative in Gothenburg
Twelve at Novemberkåsan, twelve at the CrossFit World Championships, and twelve days into his new job as our regional sales rep in Gothenburg. We sat down for a short while—since he’d rather not sit still—and talked with the tough guy, the contractor’s contractor, and the TA expert, Joacim Bengtsson. And from all of us at Renta, a warm welcome aboard. Let’s get started.
The Tanumstrand pier welcomes spring while at the same time serving as an unforgiving reminder that the winter chill is still very much here. Nothing like that has ever fazed Joacim Bengtsson. The man, the myth, the Floda legend started out as a construction worker at Skanska and laid asphalt for a couple of years before starting his own contracting business.
Enduro had always been central to his life during those years, and as part of the Honda team, he traveled around the world competing in both the World Championship and the European Championship. In the winter of 2011, he needed to stay in shape, so he turned to CrossFit and the gym in Lerum—a place he has never really left since then.
“I ended up becoming a partner in the CrossFit company, and for a while I ran it alongside my contracting business. But CrossFit became a central part of my life, and for seven years I gave the sport my all,” says Joacim Bengtsson, regional sales representative at Renta Gothenburg.
After three years of failing to meet the qualifying standards, the long-awaited email finally arrived in the spring of 2017. Joacim had qualified for the CrossFit World Championships. The first thing he said to his wife was:
– After this, I’m done with the strict diet and the two workouts a day. After this, I’m done with CrossFit. I see everything through and never give up, and that shows in everything I do. Once I arrived in Madison, Wisconsin, I got to compete in a massive event that most closely resembles the Olympics. I finished 12th overall and 4th in Europe— in the men’s 40–44 age group.

One of western Sweden’s top equipment rental companies is Perssons Hyrmaskiner. Once Joacim’s body had recovered from the grueling CrossFit World Championships, “Jocke” got the chance to help build Perssons’ flagship depot in Mölndal.
– After a five-year break from the construction industry, I came back with an incredible drive, and I was eager to reconnect with all my friends in the industry.
Fast-forward to the spring of 2023 and Tanumstrand, where all of Renta’s salespeople in the Gothenburg region have headed for the day—and you can’t help but wonder why he chose to join Renta in particular.
– Drawing on my experience running my own business and my years as an athlete, I’ve developed a hell of a lot of tenacity and an even greater drive. This “never-satisfied” mindset is something I share with Renta. I bring my cutting-edge expertise in TA and contracting into a work environment where “no” isn’t an option, and where quick decisions are the foundation for Renta’s rapid progress.
