Rent Cable feeder 5050

The 5050 cable feeder pushes the cable forward through the trench, thereby minimising the strain on the cable whilst reducing the pulling force required from the winch.

The frame consists of two sturdy sheet metal sides with sockets for four fixing pins in the base plate. The feeder is best positioned before a sharp bend or a change in level within the trench. The drive belt is a steel chain with vulcanised rubber plates and is mounted on maintenance-free ball bearings. The cable is pressed against the belt by spring-loaded nylon pressure rollers that can be easily adjusted to accommodate cables with a diameter of up to 110 mm. The rollers also feature a slight taper, enabling the feeder to handle ‘triangular’ cables. Ball-bearing-mounted vertical support rollers are fitted on the inlet and outlet sides of the feeder and can be easily adjusted sideways using quick-release knobs.

The feeder is designed to be driven by Sahlin’s 4-stroke petrol engine, hydraulic motor or electric motor, all fitted with a worm gearbox featuring forward and reverse modes.
