Tom Hansen = our regional manager for Småland/Blekinge
Two Ironman races Triathlons, a few laps around Lake Vättern, and a career in transportation on the roads of Småland. Our regional manager is now on his third day in his new role, and when asked why he chose Renta, he replied, “The challenge.” Tom, who thrives on challenges, will now bring his region together—and he’ll do so primarily by listening. We extend a warm welcome to him on board.
He studied transportation in high school and specialized early on in lifting and special transport in Kalmar. From there, wearing Jinert’s blue uniform, Tom made the internal transition from transporter to site manager.
– At first, I had so much to say, but over time I learned the value of listening. It helps you see and understand others, and I had to learn that the hard way. “Daring to let there be silence in the room gives others a chance to speak up,” says Tom Hansen, regional manager for Renta Småland/Blekinge.
Most recently, Tom spent three years as regional manager at Ramudden.
The region has expanded from 2 to 5 depots, with plans for more
Last week, we announced that we had joined forces with Gustafssons Uthyrning on the east coast of Småland, and we already have depots in Jönköping and Växjö. At the same time, we are, as usual, in discussions about opening additional depots in the region.
“This is what I mean by ‘the challenge’—I now have the opportunity to build cooperation between the depots, and as we cover larger and larger areas, synergies are created. We need to capitalize on those effects. Quite simply, we’re building the region, and it feels very exciting,” says Tom.
He has three children, loves to challenge himself (read: Ironman), and has worked his way up from delivery driver to regional manager. In a way, the circle is complete, even though this is just the beginning: back out on the roads to tie together Renta Småland/Blekinge.
“I’ve prepared well over the years and have already met several of my new colleagues—if I just listen to them, we’ll be unstoppable,” Tom concludes.
