Year in Review: Different, Yet the Same
Thousands of locally brewed cups of coffee, 7 new locations, and new owners. 2021, you kept our machines running hot, and as we wrap up the year, we have a total of 47 locations in Sweden. But the most important thing of all as we grow and get stronger is how we nurture what matters most: our local relationships. We’re nothing without our No. 10s. And this is my—CEO Joacim’s—year in review.
Construction is booming, both locally and nationally, in residential and industrial sectors alike. And we have the great privilege of supporting over 1,000 construction projects in 2021. At the same time, we’re continuing to expand the services we offer, with Renta Plan now available as a complement to Renta Easy—it shouldn’t just be easy to rent; we also want to be there for you before, during, and after your construction project. All to make your next—or current—construction project as smooth as possible.
Renta IK
It’s hardly escaped anyone’s notice that we’ve been trumpeting the slogan “building is a team sport.” That’s what our new owners are called: IK. It would be too good to be true if we were now to change our name (which we aren’t) to Renta IK, Renta Sports Club. It fits our ambitions perfectly. Speaking of ambitions, with IK we’ve become even stronger, and our tactics have only become clearer.
And I thought I’d let go of 2021 now and look ahead by giving you access to our strategy board. Because we’re the challengers—the round balls that refuse to fit into the square holes. And we’re different, yet the same.
Various
Each of us is a unique individual with our own ways of working and our own ways of building relationships. We all have our own views on what truly good service really is, and what is “local” to me (Ljungskile) is something completely different to you.
But
We’ve come together nationally and internationally, and we have no intention of holding back. Because we’re absolutely convinced that it’s the association that makes the team so strong—that helps us grow as a team and as individuals. It sets higher standards for our quality and helps us develop further. It keeps us from getting stuck in old patterns and gives us the strength to say, “Oh, I’ll bring the machine out to you first thing tomorrow morning, before breakfast.”
Still the same
Accessibility means nothing without local autonomy. It means nothing without the courage to entrust responsibility to each and every one of us, and this is where we come together as people. We are absolutely convinced that construction is a team sport where our customers are our most important player—our number 10. Internally, we’re there for each other, from early morning to late at night. Externally, we’re ready and there for you, our customer, from early morning to late at night.
The way forward is clear: with IK as our majority owner, we’re reassuring both our employees and our customers that we’ll continue to develop and challenge the industry. That we truly care and think long-term. That we intend to win this match.
By the way, speaking of security, we believe that no child should have to go without warmth this winter or go hungry at Christmas, so we’re donating our Christmas gift to support the City Mission’s important work.
As we wrap up this year, we look forward to taking on new challenges and growing together.
