What is a CO2 equivalent (CO2e)?
Carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e) are a way of indicating the greenhouse effect of a gas emission compared to an emission of the same amount of carbon dioxide (CO2). By expressing greenhouse gas emissions in CO2e, it is easy to compare the contributions of individual gases to the greenhouse effect. The conversion is performed by multiplying the emissions (kg) of a greenhouse gas by the gas’s GWP factor.
How Our Calculator Works
The vast majority of our machines are equipped with some form of telematics. This technology enables calculations such as fuel consumption and energy usage. We can also calculate CO2e emissions based on real-time data, thereby ensuring both accuracy and reliability to the greatest extent possible.

The ERA’s comprehensive database ensures that our calculations are in line with industry standards, allowing you to compare emissions across different machine types and rental periods.
