For Renta , social sustainability means that we strive to be the best employer possible, to be the most attractive partner, and to have a positive impact on our business environment.

Social Sustainability - People Come First

For Renta, social sustainability means that we strive to be the best employer possible, the most attractive partner, and to have a positive impact on our operating environment.

We believe that a winning culture is built on trust, openness, and transparency. For us, people come first.

We are committed to ensuring workplace safety, job satisfaction, opportunities to have a say and develop skills, and equal treatment. We believe that well-being also has a positive impact on our customers and partners. This also forms the foundation for a sustainable and successful business.

It is an honor for us to ensure that our words and actions are consistent. That is why we actively listen to both our own employees and our customers. We promote a safe work environment through equipment, services, and safety information. We actively participate in industry organizations. In addition to supporting elite sports, we also broadly support local sports activities and youth programs.

Socially Sustainable Development

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals aim to ensure people’s well-being, human rights, economic prosperity, and social stability—in an environmentally sustainable way.

It has been defined (Missimer et al., 2016*) that in a socially sustainable society, there are no systematic barriers regarding:
health and well-being—for example, hazardous working conditions or inadequate compensation; influence—for example, ignoring opinions on common issues; competence—for example, barriers to education or skill development; and equal treatment – for example, discrimination or unfair hiring criteria; sense of purpose – for example, a lack of purpose for the company, unclear responsibilities, a lack of respect for the culture of the individual or the local community, or inconsistencies between words and actions.”

Research has shown that trust is the foundation that binds social systems together—such as teams, company staff, networks of partners, or the local community. Trust promotes effective collaboration and helps communities act effectively and autonomously even in challenging situations, such as various types of crises.

The above is also important within Renta’s values.

Renta’s way of operating is based on trust and respect.

Renta’s way of operating is defined in our Code of Conduct, as well as in our values and vision. Every employee is responsible for adhering to these principles.

It is of the utmost importance to us that our staff, customers, and other stakeholders perceive our conduct as ethical; we therefore encourage everyone to report any irregularities they may discover. Such reports should primarily be made to one’s immediate supervisor or, if necessary, anonymously via our external whistleblowing channel.

We trust our staff. Openness, trust, and mutual respect make us an agile and committed team.

Our local presence is our strength

Local rental offices have the authority to make quick decisions on their own in the customer’s best interest. This helps build customer trust.

That’s why we also want every employee to succeed and feel fulfilled in their role. Great service comes from dedicated professionals who support one another. That’s why we actively listen to both our staff and our customers. Well-being is contagious. Customers and partners feel positive, and that sentiment is reflected back to us.

Workplace environment and equal treatment are extremely important to us. We want to support our employees’ well-being in every way and ensure their well-being even in challenging situations.

Renta’s operations also help improve customers’ work environments through equipment, services, and safety information.

We respect every individual

All people are equal and of equal worth. We do not accept any form of discrimination based on gender, nationality, ethnic background, skin color, age, religion, belief, opinion, or any other personal characteristic. We do not accept the use of child labor or forced labor in any form, and we do not work with suppliers of services or goods who are suspected of or known to use child labor or forced labor in their supply chain.

Renta develops annual gender equality and equal treatment plans as part of its human resources planning and regularly monitors the implementation of these plans. We also want to have a positive impact on society beyond our own and our customers’ day-to-day operations. That is why, for example, we are active in industry organizations and support youth sports, in addition to supporting elite sports.
